Everyone, and I mean everyone, has demons. Some people accept their demons while others try to fight back but not everyone wins. Those who lose change and you can tell because you can feel what is different from the person. You can see the fire die in their eyes and their broken spirit even when they hide behind a smile using that fake smile as a mask to hide what is really going on inside so people won’t worry. But there is a time if you’re paying attention that you can see the mask slip and you can see a sad and depressed individual then the mask goes back on and the person is smiling, but you can never unsee the person under the mask. Those who win end up a better and happier person because their demons were adding weight to their lungs so they were suffocating and when they won the weight was lifted and they could breathe again. The only problem is when someone says “I know what you’re going through” I’m sorry but no you don’t no one knows what others are going through just what you went through because it’s different for everybody. For me the demons are constantly around me or in my head and their numbers increase based on what I decide on what to do on a daily basis and even though the war hasn’t started yet I’m already losing the battles.The demons are already in the millions and are still increasing and sooner or later they will take over and I will be gone. I’m falling and drowning but don’t worry I’m still in control but it gets harder and harder as I grow older and the demons echo the insults I get at school and home and I am starting to believe what they say. They are gaining strength and I’m getting weaker and at some point I won’t be able to take any more. The reason I push people away is because I don’t want to hurt anyone badly during my war and because if I lose then who knows what they might do to people.But if I win will I be a worse person than before and become worse than what my demons will be? Am I, and everyone, better off if I lose? If I win? I’m afraid of the end results but I can’t accept my demons and this is one of those experiences that I must face alone without help and without support because if I get any help/support then my demons automatically win. And if you tell me that I’m not alone then I will prove you wrong and tell you that I’m always alone and nothing will ever change that.I can pretend that I’m fine but the truth is I’m not fine I’m dying. I use things to numb the pain but it is always temporary because I suffer from depression and anxiety and I’m constantly stressed and have a low self-esteem. So the pain is unbearable and I feel like I’m in a hurricane tossing me into a tornado then dropping me into a bleeding ocean dragging me deeper and deeper and than the ocean floor opens up and I keep falling. And that is just on my ok days.
